It's been a long time since I've been in David's Ford

The summers drifted by and we'd both go back to school
He went to Indiana and I hung around New York
He stayed out in the Midwest, we started losin' touch
I'd think about those 3 a.m. June nights in David's Ford

He got engaged ten years ago, I went out to his wedding
The night before he took the plunge, we sat around and roared
And now I just don't see him much but somehow every June
I wonder if some kid somewhere is drivin' David's Ford
